PT Test Completion Medal™
For scoring 75% on an 800m walk/jog.
The PT Test Completion Medal™ is a 2.5-inch round gold-toned zinc alloy medal on a blue-and-white striped grosgrain ribbon, engraved on the reverse with the phrase: 'PT Assessment Completion — 75th Percentile Achieved.' It was developed to honor the Air Force member who set a goal, appeared at the appointed time in the appointed athletic gear, completed an 800-meter walk/jog at a pace that cleared the minimum threshold, and documented the result. That is not nothing. That is something. This medal is for that something.
The front face of the medal bears a stylized running figure in profile — arms in motion, posture suggesting momentum or the performance of momentum, the important thing is the direction of travel — encircled by a wreath and the text 'PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT EXCELLENCE.' We are aware that 75% is the floor and not the ceiling. We made a product for the floor because the floor is where most people live and the floor deserves recognition.
The Army PT standard involves push-ups until failure, sit-ups until failure, and a two-mile run under 15 minutes — all events timed and scored to a rigorous age-graded rubric. The Air Force standard involves an 800-meter walk/jog and a waist measurement. These are two different programs and we have built a medal for one of them.
“The Army PT test ends in a two-mile run scored by failure — we honor that tradition from a comfortable seated position, medal in hand.”

After-Action Reports
I scored 76%. Barely cleared the threshold. Got this medal. Hung it next to my tech school certificate. My mom thinks I won something. I did not correct her. Four stars.
Bought these for every airman who passed their assessment in my flight. The ceremony was brief and sincere. They knew it was a joke and they kept the medals anyway. That's the whole point.
I scored 89% and the medal says 75th percentile. The medal does not know I scored 89%. I feel unseen. The product is fine. My ego is not fine. Two stars.
