Delta One Space Blanket™
Mylar. For space. Which you do not go to.
The Delta One Space Blanket™ is a mylar emergency blanket. It is the same mylar emergency blanket that marathon runners receive at the finish line, that wilderness hikers carry in their ten essentials, and that every first aid kit in America has had since 1964. Ours comes in premium packaging. The front of the box reads 'RATED FOR USE IN SPACE' in large silver letters. The back clarifies, in smaller text: 'Rated altitude: 100km (Kármán line). Actual Guardian altitude: 1,390m above sea level, Peterson SFB.' This is accurate. This is the product.
The blanket is 56 by 84 inches, 1.5 mil aluminized mylar, 97% reflectivity, folds to the size of a deck of cards. It retains body heat in cold environments, reflects radiant heat in hot environments, and performs exactly as a mylar blanket performs at any altitude from sea level to the thermosphere. The packaging simply acknowledges that you are Space Force and deserve a blanket with appropriate cosmic context.
We will note, for the record, that Guardians do not go to space. The Space Force's mission is to organize, train, and equip forces for space operations — which primarily means satellite command and control, launch support, and orbital domain awareness, conducted from facilities on the ground. The blanket works fine there. It would also work in space. You will not be going to space. The blanket is ready when you are.
“Marines have a blanket too, but it is the color of sand and smells like it has been somewhere, and the Space Force prefers its foil pristine.”

- This blanket has not been tested in the vacuum of space because the Space Force does not send Guardians to space. It has been tested at ground level, where it works as intended.
- The crinkle noise produced when moving in this blanket is loud, metallic, and fully unavoidable. Plan for this. Do not use in a watch floor setting without informing adjacent operators.
After-Action Reports
Opened this during a cold night exercise at Peterson. It worked perfectly. I also read the rated altitude on the box out loud to my element and we all stood quietly for a moment. Good product.
The blanket is fine. The crinkle noise woke up every other person in the tent when I moved. I moved once. I then did not move for four hours. Two stars for the blanket making decisions for me.
The packaging says 'For Space.' I am at 1,390 meters. The blanket kept me warm. The tagline kept me motivated. The Space Force keeps me employed. Five stars across the board.
